Project Title: Promoting Health in Prostate and Breast Cancer

Goal: The goal of this project was to develop, implement, and evaluate a program to promote healthier lifestyles through a tailored correspondence course designed to effect behavior change in the areas of diet and exercise among cancer survivors.

Project Title: Development of an Information Infrastructure to Support Collaboration for Population-based Health Care for Medicaid Beneficiaries

Project Title: Evaluation of an Adaptive Patient Data Entry Interface

Goal: To develop and evaluate a web-based system that facilitates collection of clinical data directly from patients by adapting the user interface based on an assessment of the user's skill level in a specific domain. Initial development will focus on a health maintenance and risk assessment questionnaire adapted to a patient's literacy level.

Project Title: Development and Testing of an Automated System for Assessing Cancer Risk and Providing Relevant Recommendations to Patients and Providers

Goals: Develop and test a computer program, the Cancer Risk Intake System, that assesses needs and provides, for patients and their providers, individually tailored printed information regarding breast, ovarian and colorectal cancer risk and, when appropriate, recommendations for screening, tamoxifen use or genetic risk assessment counseling

Goal: The goal of this project is to develop and evaluate a program that will enhance health literacy by integrating health education materials into a computer system that collects clinical information directly from patients and accommodates their diverse literacy skills by adapting the human-computer interface.
